Catalyst funds aim to enhance collaboration between industry and researchers during early concept development, promoting the transition of new ideas to higher maturity levels through financial support and access to industrial collaboration environments.
The first call has now closed and the evaluation process has begun. The winners will be notified soon, with selected projects set to benefit from financial support and the opportunity to work in industry environments.
The second call for the Catalyst Funds will open in the spring of 2025.
Sixteen focused projects will be awarded in two waves, with the potential for additional projects to receive support. Each project offers significant opportunities for concept development and maturity.
There will be two calls for funding, each open for two months and announced on the Funding and Tenders Portal and Engage 2 website. Evaluation and awards will be conducted by the Awards Board. Projects funded in the first call may also receive funding in the second call, with a maximum total support of €60k per entity. Each project will run for up to 12 months and conclude with a final technical report.
Proposals should demonstrate original contributions to the state of the art and can focus on thematic challenges or be ‘open.’ Submissions can come from single entities or consortia of two to four entities located in eligible countries.
