Summer schools
Winter School #1 | Belgrade (Serbia)
27-31 January 2025
Important update: this event is now going to be a Winter School! We regret to inform you that the first edition of the Engage 2 Summer School, initially scheduled for 9th-13th September 2024, has been postponed and will now be held from 27th to 31st January 2025.
The reasons for this change are primarily organisational, related to the project-funded PhDs that will start in Autumn 2024.
One of the key remits of Engage 2 KTN is provision of high quality education and training in the field of ATM, by means of gathering together postgraduate students, experienced researchers and industry representatives. To that end, this four-day Summer school will include tutorials on key ATM concepts and challenges as well as on research methodologies, including case studies and presentations of prominent SESAR exploratory research projects.
The summer school attendance is free of charge; however the number of participants is limited.
Here’s a selection of the tutorial topics:
- Performance measurement in ATM
- Risk and safety modelling in civil aviation
- Aviation meteorology, airborne natural hazards and environmental impacts
- Delays in European aviation: trends and costs
- Experimental methods
- Future concepts in ATM
- An introduction to flight planning and ATM messaging
- Modelling methods in aviation: comparative benefits
- Tools for data science
- Artificial intelligence in the aviation industry: a new prediction approach for airlines
- Open-source tools and open-science for ATM research
